DNS Processing - Frequently Asked Questions
This is not a definitive list. If you have questions call or email us at support@dnseft.com
Q: How can an ATM increase my business?
A: With an ATM you will……
- Increase store traffic
- Attract new customers
- Generate more cash revenue
- Reduce/eliminate credit card charges
- Avoid bad checks
- Avoid charge backs on debit cards
- Participate in EBT
In general, an ATM puts cash in your customer’s hand and some of that cash stays in your business!
Q: Do I need a dedicated phone line for my ATM?
A: No, you can use an existing line. If the phone line is picked up by another device during
the ATM transaction, it may interrupt the ATM transaction, however. This does not happen often, generally, but becomes a real consideration the busier your ATM is.
Q: When transactions are dialing out, does this result in any long distance charges?
A: No. We provide you a primary and backup toll-free 800# for our processing switches.
Q: I thought that only Banks and Financial Institutions can own and operate ATMs.
A: That has actually never been true, ATMs could always be owned by anyone, but only in recent years has ATM equipment been cost effective and truly profitable enough that an individual or retail merchant would want to own one. Also, on April 1, 1996 the Federal Reserve mandated there could be private ownership of ATM and transaction fees charged.
Q: What kind of reports do I get for my ATM transactions?
A: DNS Offers many reporting features to track your ATM's performance and keep it profiting!
All transaction reports are online in real-time via WebMon, and we send out a hard-copy report each month with surcharge payments as well.
Additionally, we offer notifications to your cellphone or email about your ATM performance issues. You can also check some statistics using your cellphone.
Q: What type of cards can my ATM accept when processing with DNS?
A: Quick answer: All PIN-based transactions from any card.
More specifically: National network configurations including Cirrus®, Plus®, VISA®, MasterCard®, American Express®, and Discover®. In addition, all local, regional, and international networks such as Star, Pulse, The Exchange, Plus Canada, Plus Europe, Quest, MAC, AFFN, and other networks are accepted.
